Bio

Domestika saw the light of day in early 2003 when Kasper Winding decided to bring together his talents as a composer/arranger and his love for electronic music. Recorded in different living rooms around Europe, the resulting album is an amazing musical journey that refuses to acknowledge that after 30 there's only Norah Jones. The record is so far released by Playground Music in Scandinavia.

Born in Denmark Kasper Winding started playing drums and guitar at the age of seven, and had his first song published at the age of nine. After a series of successful film scores in Denmark, he decided to move to New York and at the age of 19 became a session drummer. There followed some recording sessions with amongst others The Rolling Stones, Frank Zappa, Barry White and Phillip Glass and a stint on the TV show Saturday Night Live. Kasper then received a scholarship to attend film scoring master classes with Ennio Moricone and John Williams and a master class in composing under Leonard Bernstein.

Upon his return to Europe, he recorded a very successful score for the TV series "Once a cop" which included one of the 10 biggest selling singles in the history of the Danish music industry. He followed this success with a series of film scores including "Epidemic" (directed by Lars Von Trier, director of "Breaking Waves") and also ventured into the world of musical/ballet with Peter Martins and The New York City Ballet, Opera de Lyon, and Danish international ballet.

Recently Kasper has also turned to producing and composing for other artists, including Caroline Henderson, whose solo album "Cinemataztic" won 8 Danish Grammy’s (including best producer and best songwriter) and his close and extremely talented friend CV Jørgensen.
